O telefilme Behind the Candelabra foi a produção mais premiada nos Creative Arts Emmys 2013 (vulgarmente conhecidos como prémios Emmy técnicos), que foram entregues este Domingo, em antecipação aos Primetime Emmy que serão anunciados numa cerimónia na próxima semana.
Realizado por Steven Soderbergh, o filme recebeu oito dois nove prémios para os quais estava nomeado, incluindo Melhor Elenco em Telefilme ou Minissérie. No próximo fim-de-semana, poderá mesmo igualar ou bater o recorde de prémios Emmy para um telefilme ou minissérie (em 2008, John Adams venceu oito prémios). O filme estreará nos cinemas portugueses, sob o título Por Detrás do Candelabro, a 19 de Setembro.
Nas categorias ligadas às séries de ficção, liderança de Boardwalk Empire, com quatro prémios Emmy. O canal HBO lidera assim as premiações até ao momento, num total de 20 prémios Emmy, seguido do canal CBS com 15.
Destaque ainda para House of Cards, que conseguiu já dois prémios (Melhor Elenco e Melhor Fotografia), assim como os prémios de interpretação para os actores convidados: Dan Bucatinsky, Bob Newhart, Melissa Leo e Carrie Preston.
