"Game of Thrones" lidera nomeações aos prémios Emmy 2015

Game of Thrones voltou, pelo segundo ano consecutivo, a ser a série mais nomeada aos prémios Emmy 2015, prémios da Academia de Televisão norte-americana, com vinte e quatro nomeações (em 2014, tinha recebido dezanove). American Horror Story: Freak Show conseguiu dezanove nomeações, enquanto que Olive Kitteridge atingiu as treze nomeações. O canal HBO é também o líder de nomeações, com cento e vinte e seis; largamente acima das quarenta e duas do canal ABC. Destaque para a quantidade de nomeações de canais alternativos de exibição e distribuição televisiva: a Amazon conta com doze nomeações e o Netflix com trinta e quatro.

Entre as maiores surpresas entre os prémios Emmy estão a ausência de Empire na categoria de Melhor Série Dramática (embora tenha conseguido um total de três nomeações, incluindo Melhor Actriz); Jane the Virgin e a sua protagonista Gina Rodriguez ausentes da categoria de comédia, assim como Jim Parsons e The Big Bang Theory ausentes das categorias de Melhor Actor e Série de Comédia. The Americans, Justified e The Affair não conseguiram figurar como melhores séries dramáticas, mas Homeland e Mad Men recuperaram as suas posições, enquanto que Better Call Saul surpreende na sua primeira temporada. Kerry Washington não consegue também ser nomeada por Scandal, tendo acontecido o mesmo com Ellie Kemper por Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (que ainda assim consegue entrar na corrida pelas comédias) e Nick Offerman em Parks and Recreation.
