Foram anunciadas na quarta-feira os nomeados para os prémios BAFTA, os mais importantes prémios cinematográficos britânicos, com algumas surpresas e que podem talvez mudar o curso da corrida para os Óscares em algumas categorias.
Ao contrário do sucedido em outros importantes prémios, True Grit dos irmãos Coen, marca forte presença com oito nomeações (incluindo Melhor Filme). Obviamente que o filme com mais nomeações é The King's Speech, filme que joga em casa e tem já catorze nomeações, seguido de Black Swan com doze. Destaque ainda para o sueco The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, com nomeações para Melhor Argumento Adaptado, Melhor Actriz e Melhor Filme Estrangeiro, para a nomeação de Barbara Hershey como Melhor Actriz Secundária ou até a nomeação póstuma de Pete Postlethwaite por The Town. Curiosa ainda a nomeação de Julianne Moore e que poderá trazê-la de volta à corrida aos Óscares ou ainda Hailee Steinfeld que é finalmente nomeada na categoria correcta e por fim a ausência de Melissa Leo entre as candidatas a Melhor Actriz Secundária.
